About the brand
Bhoomi~भूमि is more than a label—it is a narrative for feminine body and grace. I view femininity not as a fixed ideal but a dynamic force that resists definition. The brand reclaims space for the body to exist freely, unapologetically, and beautifully in its many expressions.
Through deconstructed techniques, sustainable practices, storytelling I create powerful pieces rooted in cultural depth and emotional expression. Each collection unfolds as a layered conversation—between body and garment, tradition and rebellion, structure and fluidity. We assemble new futures from our fragmented pasts.
ABOUT THE DESIGNER
Bhoomi Maru, founder of भूमि, is a Fashion Design graduate from Falmouth University. During her time at Falmouth, she gained hands-on industry experience as a design assistant at JÚ MORANSA and IZZY DU, where she contributed to daily studio work, assisted with fashion shows and editorial shoots, and participated in creative design discussions. Immersed in these dynamic environments, she was inspired to think beyond convention, cultivating a strong personal vision and a distinctive design sensibility.
Her work reimagines garment construction through storytelling, sustainability, and cultural resonance. With a solid foundation in designing, pattern cutting, CLO 3D, and garment construction, Bhoomi’s creations explore the sensual form of the body.
She is eager to grow further in a collaborative, innovative, and creatively charged design team.
Sustainability is Key
At Bhoomi~भूमि, sustainability is not an afterthought—it is a foundation. From the fabrics I choose to the way each garment is designed, I am committed to reducing waste, preserving resources, and honouring the environment.
I choose 100% single-fibre fabrics over blends ensuring easier recyclability and a longer material lifecycle. Our pattern-making often begins with a single square or rectangle—minimising offcuts and promoting zero-waste design. Digital tools like CLO 3D allow us to prototype garments virtually, reducing the need for excessive sampling and fabric waste.
My design choices reflect care—for the planet, for the people who wear our pieces, and for the stories each garment carries. Sustainability to me means longevity, thoughtfulness, and designing with the future in mind.
